AFL Draft 2026: What Every Pick Is Worth
Picks 1 to 60 in the order they stand after the trade period, each valued two ways: the AFL’s Draft Value Index points, and the TORP value a player taken there is expected to produce over eight seasons. Below the order: what each father-son, academy and Next Generation Academy bid should cost the club that matches it.
The draft order
From pick 50 the TORP value is 0, by design. Over eight seasons, the average player taken that late is no better than a replacement-level player, one a club can sign for nothing. The AFL’s points scale reaches 0 later, at pick 55, so picks 50 to 54 still carry points that clubs can spend on bids.
Father-son, academy and Next Generation Academy bids
Bid positions are a forecast, not a fact: they come from one mock draft and will move on the night. The section below shows what a bid would cost at any pick from 1 to 54.

How the numbers are made
TORP value comes from the same method as our trade grades: what players taken at each pick in the 2020 and 2021 drafts have produced, plus a forecast of their remaining seasons. Bid prices follow the AFL’s matching rules, simplified: the club hands over its next picks after the bid until the cost is paid. The full method, and its limits, is in how we price players and draft picks.
