World Cup 2026 Final Group Games
Each group has just two games left. Put the goal difference of one game on each axis, and every square answers a single question: if both games finish at those two margins, who qualifies? Top two go through automatically; third place goes into the best-eight-thirds race. The 2026 tiebreakers — head-to-head before overall goal difference — decide every tied square.
Best thirds
The twelve third-placed teams are ranked by points, goal difference, goals scored, fair play, then FIFA World Ranking; the best eight advance. Full tiebreakers ↓

How the tiebreakers work
Teams within a group are ranked by:
- Points
- Head-to-head points
- Head-to-head goal difference
- Head-to-head goals scored
- Goal difference in all group matches
- Goals scored in all group matches
- Fair play points
- FIFA World Ranking
Head-to-head above overall goal difference (2 to 4 above 5) is new for 2026.
The twelve third-placed teams are ranked to take the best eight by:
- Points
- Goal difference
- Goals scored
- Fair play points
- FIFA World Ranking
A goal-difference map settles every step except goals scored, so squares that come down to goals scored are drawn dashed and split between the teams it can’t separate.
